Inside City of Sarasota, City of Venice, City of North Port or Town of Longboat Key, use the local building department. Longboat Key crosses into Manatee County; confirm the county side. First identify the exact parcel and responsible authority, then ask that office for the current application, contractor registration, plan documents, separate reviews, fee and inspection instructions.
