How StartFL works
Sources, verification and limits
StartFL connects government information and tools so you can find the responsible office and a practical next step. Here is what sits behind the guidance.
Official sources and local scope
County packages contain source-linked guides, agency contacts, filing workflows and municipal records. Sources include government instructions, ordinances, forms, public portals and geographic data. A guide can bring several authorities together, but its scope matters: a County rule for unincorporated property does not automatically apply inside a city.
Source links let you inspect the underlying government information. The responsible government sets current requirements and makes binding decisions. StartFL is an independent service and is not endorsed by those authorities.
What “Verified” means
A verification date comes from the source-access record attached to that guide or profile. It describes the recorded source check, not a promise that every linked page or every requirement has been checked today. Dates can differ between sources on the same page. Follow the cited source for the current application, fee schedule or deadline.
County publication includes source and routing checks. It does not mean every portal has an automated live search. Some destinations are official handoffs, and a successful search in one system does not establish complete historical coverage.
Changes and freshness
StartFL has source-change checks that compare fetched content with stored fingerprints and flag changes or fetch failures. A changed fingerprint can also reflect a website redesign. An unchanged fingerprint cannot prove that all government information is current.
Supported knowledge refreshes can use automated proposals and a separate automated validation step against fetched official evidence. Incomplete, conflicting or unsupported evidence is marked for review. These checks support maintenance; they are not a claim that a human expert has reviewed every page or that monitoring reaches every government source.
Addresses, records and missing results
Address tools use available official address, parcel and boundary evidence to identify jurisdiction. A mailing city or ZIP code alone is not enough. County and municipal permit systems, utilities, fire authorities and environmental reviews can follow different boundaries.
Tools show available records and official destinations. A blocked portal, an unmatched address or an empty search means the result is unavailable or inconclusive. It does not prove there are no permits, violations, flood risks or other records. Historical records and system transitions may require a request to the responsible office.
Ask Ray and Project Kits
Ask Ray uses source-linked county knowledge and available tools to explain a question and its next steps. Generated answers can make mistakes. Inspect the cited evidence and use the official authority for a binding determination.
A Project Kit organizes a filing path, official resources and tasks. It does not issue a permit, submit an application or guarantee approval. The public sample is illustrative. Government charges are separate from the optional StartFL kit purchase.
Corrections and contact
If a source or instruction looks wrong, send the page URL, the disputed statement and the official source to [email protected]. Please leave private property documents, account credentials and payment details out of the message.
