St. Petersburg residential additions, remodels, and permit review
Source references checked 2026-09-29. How we check sources
Residential additions and remodels inside the City of St. Petersburg are permitted by the City's Construction Services and Permitting division, not Pinellas County BDRS. The permit path must be paired with City zoning, floodplain, historic or overlay review, and site-specific setbacks before answering feasibility. An addition or second story also requires structural plans that address the connection to the existing building. StartFL should use the St. Petersburg parcel jurisdiction and City rules rather than falling back to unincorporated Pinellas standards.
St. Petersburg commercial construction, tenant build-out, and occupancy review
Source references checked 2026-09-29. How we check sources
Commercial and multifamily construction inside St. Petersburg uses the City's Construction Services and Permitting process. New construction, additions, tenant build-outs, and changes in occupancy can involve zoning, building, accessibility, fire and life-safety, utility, and site review. Before describing a tenant space as approvable, confirm the proposed use under City zoning and whether construction or occupancy changes trigger additional reviews.
