Gulfport runs its own building department in the Public Services Building at the City Hall complex (corner of 54th St S and 23rd Ave S). Inspection line: (727) 893-1057. No building permits issued after 3:00 p.m.; residents applying for owner permits must apply in person.

BS&A Online portal - register an account and call Community Development at (727) 893-1024 for a PIN; used to apply for permits, check status, and schedule inspections.

Community Development handles building, planning, zoning, code enforcement, and business tax receipts under one department. City bills water/sewer but purchases both wholesale from the City of St. Petersburg under a long-term interlocal agreement; a minority of accounts are on Pinellas County sewer.
