Miami-Dade assigns each unincorporated property a zoning district that controls permitted uses and dimensional standards such as lot area, building coverage, height, setbacks, accessory structures, pools, fences and parking. Standards differ materially among districts such as RU-1, RU-1M variants, RU-1Z, EU districts, AU and GU. StartFL must resolve the parcel zoning first and apply the official district page or County Code for that district rather than using one countywide residential setback rule.
