Miami-Dade's Stormwater Utility funds drainage, flood-protection and water-quality work in unincorporated areas and certain municipalities. The County maintains secondary drainage and canal infrastructure within its jurisdiction, while local streets, private drainage and municipal systems can have different responsible entities. Flood or drainage complaints should therefore be routed by location and infrastructure owner rather than assuming every drainage problem is County-maintained.
