Florida's private-provider option is available in Miami-Dade for eligible plan review and inspection functions, but it does not replace every government review. Miami-Dade states that zoning, fire, public works and other disciplines remain outside the private provider's scope. A Notice to Building Official is required before the private provider is recognized, and timing rules apply when electing the option after permitting has begun.
