Temple Terrace building permits and required submittals
Flagged source reviewed 2026-10-17. How we check sources
Inside Temple Terrace, the City Building & Permitting division handles building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, sign, site-development, fire-system, pool, fence, roof, driveway, and related permits. The City's required-submittal matrix varies by project type and can require permit applications, signed/sealed construction plans, surveys, elevations, energy calculations, truss drawings, erosion-control plans, product approvals, outside-agency permits, Notice of Commencement, and other documents. Temple Terrace also supports online permit/inspection services. Temple Terrace online permitting notice (checked October 17, 2026): the City's Applications and Forms page says online permitting services will be temporarily unavailable beginning Monday, October 26. Check the City's current availability and filing instructions before submitting online. StartFL must not apply unincorporated Hillsborough checklists or fee schedules to a Temple Terrace property.
Temple Terrace zoning, site development, variances, and local fees
Temple Terrace Community Development administers the City's zoning, site-plan review, development review, variances, zoning reclassifications, annexations, and business-license review. The City publishes its own Land Development Code, zoning/future-land-use maps, required submittals, and building/site-development fee information. City maps are informational and the City directs users to verify legally accurate land information with staff before relying on it for a development action. For Temple Terrace parcels, StartFL should route zoning and site-development questions to the City's rules and not to Hillsborough County's unincorporated LDC.
