Hillsborough fire, occupancy, life-safety, and special-event review

Commercial construction and changes of use can require fire/life-safety review as part of the local permit path. Hillsborough commercial new-construction intake states that fire review is part of the permit submission, and Fire Rescue publishes separate inspection/permit fees for occupancy, fire alarms, suppression systems, temporary structures, and other safety systems. A building permit or business tax receipt does not replace fire approval where required. For events, assembly uses, restaurants, tenant changes, and commercial occupancy questions, StartFL should include the applicable fire authority for the parcel's jurisdiction.
