For commercial accessory structure projects in unincorporated Hillsborough County, apply online through HillsGovHub. Intake requires a complete set of approved-for-construction stamped civil plans and an approved letter or approved vertical consent (parallel review) letter from Site and Subdivision Intake. Site plan requirements include the approved Site Development Construction Plan Review and approved letter. Building plans must be designed in accordance with the current Florida Building Code and digitally signed and sealed by a State of Florida registered architect or engineer. Properties in the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) must fully comply with the applicable County code, ASCE 24, Florida Building Code, and other applicable local, state, and federal regulations, with the most restrictive applying. Because the County specifies both approved site-plan review and building-plan review requirements, feasibility is not determined from building code alone.
