Flagged source reviewed 2026-10-15. How we check sources
New commercial buildings, commercial additions, and shell buildings in unincorporated Hillsborough County use the County's commercial construction checklist. Intake requires a complete set of approved-for-construction stamped civil plans and an approved letter or approved vertical-consent/parallel-review letter from the Site and Subdivision Intake Section. Intake can require water/sewer evidence or septic documentation, Notice of Commencement, fire review, impact and mobility fee assessment, and private-provider documents if that option is used. Plans address current Florida Building Code structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, gas, accessibility, special-occupancy, and flood/SFHA requirements. This is a multi-review development path, not simply a building-permit form.
