Jacksonville’s published plan-review procedure says plans are initially submitted to the Building Inspection Division, which reviews them and forwards them to the Fire Department; its initial life-safety review applies to all proposed construction, with listed fire-safety requirements addressed before building-permit issuance. The procedure also says that review of fire suppression, alarms, special hazards and other fire permits may occur after building-permit issuance, and that work requiring a fire permit must have an online permit completed and a temporary or waiting status permit number issued before plans are turned in. JFRD describes Fire Prevention as reviewing building plans and issuing fire permits, and its permits page lists bonfire, event and food-truck permit information. Confirm that the procedure applies to the project and check current requirements; building-permit issuance does not necessarily mean every separate fire review is complete.
