Pinellas County residents have public transit options for both major airports: Tampa International Airport (TPA) across the bay, and St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) in mid county.
Tampa International Airport (TPA): Route 300 Airport Express
PSTA's Route 300 Airport Express is the direct transit link to TPA. It runs limited stop express service between the Ulmerton Park and Ride in the Largo area and Marion Transit Center in downtown Tampa, stopping at the PSTA Complex, Feather Sound, and the TPA main terminal and rental car facility. As of 2026-08-29 the published schedule shows weekday service (Monday through Friday) with roughly 8 to 10 departures each direction, from about 6:10 a.m. to 7:25 p.m. eastbound and 7:42 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. westbound. Check the current schedule at psta.net before you fly, especially for weekend travel, since the posted timetable is weekday only. PSTA's fare page lists a standard $2.25 single fare and does not list a separate express surcharge. unverified
Earlier PSTA airport expresses ran under the names 100X and 300X SuperFast; today the services appear on psta.net simply as Route 100 (downtown St. Petersburg to downtown Tampa) and Route 300 (Airport Express). Route 100 is useful for reaching downtown Tampa but is not an airport route.
St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE): The Grouper
PIE is served by the Grouper Airport Express, PSTA's on demand shared ride service between the airport and Clearwater Beach, including beach resort properties. You can hail a ride on demand or reserve up to 2 months ahead at grouper.psta.net or through the Grouper mobile app. As of 2026-08-29 fares are $8 for a single rider ($4 for seniors 65 and older), $20 one way for groups of 3 to 4, and $30 for groups of 5 to 8. Service operates every day and any time PIE has arriving or departing flights, and vehicles are wheelchair accessible. Riders get a 15 to 30 minute pickup window with text updates. Note that the Grouper only connects PIE with Clearwater Beach; for other destinations, connect to the regular bus network. unverified
